Non-surgical rhinoplasty is an aesthetic operation aimed at correcting small defects in the shape and contours of the nose without the use of surgical methods.You should clearly understand the results that can be achieved using this technique.Any serious defects, curvature of the nasal septum or reduction of the nose - all this is the field of surgical corrective cosmetology.
Procedure options
Modern plastic surgery offers a wide range of methods to correct both significant and subtle defects.The search for solutions to such problems began a long time ago.More and more new tools are constantly being developed.Older methods are disappearing from the arsenal of cosmetologists and plastic surgeons.

Today rhinoplasty without surgery can be performed using the following methods:
- Fillers.
- Discussions.
- Hormonal drugs.
- Longuetto.
The choice of one or another method of changing the shape of the nose without surgery depends on a fairly wide range of factors.First, you need to clearly define your goals, specifically describe the gap of interest and the desired outcome.The doctor selects the most effective method of non-surgical rhinoplasty (if possible).
An accurate medical history is collected, the presence of any hypersensitivity reactions to certain drugs is detected and information on concomitant diseases is collected.Based on the synthesis of all the information received, a decision is made on therapeutic tactics for the problem.Non-surgical rhinoplasty of the nose allows you to solve a fairly large number of problems, but it is not a radical method.
This is due to several reasons:
- the methods used are capable of correcting only small defects;
- Most of the options that can be proposed produce a temporary effect, i.e. require repeated manipulations.
However, there are also huge advantages over surgical methods.This is also the duration of the procedure, which rarely lasts more than half an hour.And a very short recovery period (maximum a few days).Correction of defects is not accompanied by any significant pain.
A separate indication for non-surgical correction of the nose is the correction of some "defects" that cannot be changed during plastic surgery.
Application of fillers
The term “fillers” refers to special substances that are used in a procedure called “nose reshaping.”There are currently 2 large groups of fillers: absorbable and non-absorbable.However, more and more people are moving away from the latter group.
The main fillers are:
- Preparations based on hyaluronic acid.
- Collagen-based preparations of various origins.
- Preparations based on mineral compounds – calcium hydroxyapatite.
- Preparations based on artificially synthesized organic substances.
- Non-absorbable fillers: silicone implants and lipofilling.
Correction of the shape of the nose using fillers is performed as follows:
- the problem area is evaluated according to a series of parameters;
- the most suitable correction method is selected;
- The filler is injected to the required depth using a special needle.
The administered amount of the substance is sufficient to correct small defects in the soft tissues and cartilaginous skeleton.In most cases, the procedure is preceded by local anesthesia.For this purpose, the so-called topical anesthesia is used (a special gel containing a local anesthetic is applied to the skin of the nose, the bridge of the nose and adjacent areas).
After 30 minutes the pain sensitivity of the skin disappears completely.After completing the main stage of the procedure, it is recommended to wear a special splint for 24-48 hours, which prevents the filler from shifting and unnecessary trauma.
Despite the fact that non-surgical correction of the nose is performed very quickly, to avoid unwanted effects and consolidate the result, it is necessary to adhere to a number of rules within 14 days:
- Do not expose to high temperatures, either locally or generally.It is necessary to avoid visiting the bathhouse, sauna, solarium.
- Stay in the sun as little as possible.And if necessary, use sunscreen.
- Any mechanical intervention on the nasal area (handling cosmetics, massage) is strictly prohibited.
- Avoid drinking alcohol, whose breakdown products in the body can interact with the filler and alter its shape.
Hyaluronic acid and collagen
Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the intercellular substance of connective tissue, including the skin.It gives it properties such as elasticity and softness.
This is due to the structure of the molecule of this acid: there are a large number of hydrophilic (water-attracting) branches that saturate the injection site with liquid.Therefore, after hyaluronic acid enters the thickness of the skin, water molecules accumulate, which leads to a slight local increase in the volume of the treated tissue.
This is the basis for the use of these drugs, with which it is possible to change the shape of the nose without surgery.Considering that the drugs of this group come in the form of a gel, which can be given the necessary properties immediately after administration, this allows the cosmetologist to give the nose the necessary shape.
Immediately after administration of the drug into the skin, slight swelling of the tissue occurs.A small hematoma may form.In most cases, these side effects are subtle and hardly attract attention.Usually the swelling disappears completely in 4-7 days without leaving a trace.
Contraindications to the administration of hyaluronic acid-based preparations are:
- inflammatory processes in the injection area;
- infectious diseases;
- diseases accompanied by decreased blood clotting;
- severe diabetes mellitus of any type;
- pregnancy and breastfeeding period.
Another type of filler is preparations containing collagen.This is also a normal component of the skin, which gives it strength and elasticity.Normally, it is produced by connective tissue cells - fibroblasts, but with age this substance "ages" and the skin loses its previous properties.
Collagen, which reduces visible skin defects, can be bovine or human.Preference should be given to the second, since bovine protein is a foreign substance for the body and much more often causes adverse reactions (severe swelling, pain, itching, burning, rejection and suppuration).Therefore, to avoid unexpected reactions, before administering drugs based on bovine collagen, it is necessary to carry out an allergy test.
Numerous human collagen products have been created to perform rhinoplasty without surgery.These drugs have an undeniable advantage.Human collagen does not have such a pronounced reactogenic activity in relation to the immune system, so it can be used without a preliminary allergy test.
Each of the preparations based on human collagen has certain characteristics.Correction of the nose without surgery with these drugs is carried out according to the same principle as substances containing hyaluronic acid.
Hormonal drugs
The most commonly used synthetic analogues of adrenal hormones are glucocorticoids.It turned out that these hormonal drugs can cause destruction of soft and cartilaginous tissues at the site of their administration.It is used to correct small humps on the nose.
However, the use of this group of drugs takes several weeks and requires extreme care and firmness from the doctor, because an incorrectly chosen dose or incorrect administration of the drug can make the defect even more noticeable.
It is also necessary to take into account the fact that hormonal drugs have a number of special contraindications.They should not be administered in the presence of local inflammation or an active herpetic process, severe diabetes mellitus or any infectious disease.Additionally, glucocorticoids should not be administered in the presence of fungal infections.This is due to the fact that hormones suppress those immune responses that normally inhibit the development of pathogenic fungi.
The use of hormonal drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding is strictly prohibited, as these substances can penetrate the placental barrier and milk.
Cosmetic threads
A technique for using cosmetic threads has been developed, which is based on the introduction of thread-like structures into the skin and strengthening the necessary areas with their help.This method allows you to lift the tip of the nose that is too bent downwards and correct the contours of the wings and the back of the nose.

There are several important points in the action of cosmetic threads:
- Over time, the strands dissolve, which makes it possible to correct them again in the future (if necessary).
- Since the thread is a foreign body, a natural response occurs to its penetration into the internal environment of the body - the development of connective tissue.This tissue remains even after the thread has been absorbed.Therefore, the effect remains for a long time and in some cases forever.
- The material with which they are made does not cause allergic reactions.
It is important that cosmetic threads can significantly change the contour (profile) of the nose without surgical intervention.This cannot be achieved with other nose correction methods.
Despite all the advantages, the use of threads can cause some complications:
- suppuration;
- inadequate inflammatory response;
- thread breakage;
- curvature of the nose.
Application of splints
The splint is a plastic device, selected and designed according to individual needs.This device allows you to both reduce the nose without surgery and slightly change its shape.

A significant advantage of this method is that there is no need to damage the skin, which completely eliminates the possibility of infection.The disadvantage is that you need to wear the splints for a long time.A noticeable effect may appear only after a few months.
If the reflection in the mirror is not always satisfactory, but you do not want to undergo surgery, modern cosmetological science can offer many methods of correcting small defects.
